Day 4

Alright AdvoCare fans, day 4 is in the books!

I figured I would sit here and write to you guys while I am waiting for my garage door repairman to show up.

I am happy to report that I am feeling great!  I will say that I am using the restroom quite a bit though.  I have no doubt in my mind that this is because I am drinking a gallon of water every day and am using the fiber that comes with the cleanse package.  The water consumption will stay consistent throughout the 24 day challenge, but the fiber will stop after 10 days.  The fiber is just there to help move everything through your bowels and get your insides all squeaky clean.

Despite dropping my calories down I haven’t been too hungry or too fatigued.  The Spark has helped to keep my energy levels up and the increased amounts of protein has helped keep me full in between meals.

I don’t think I have ever eaten this healthy, or even been this motivated to eat healthy.  I’m really hoping that after this 24 days I will be able to continue eating this way.  I will say that I find it easier to eat healthy than to eat the way I was eating before.  All it took was a little bit of planning and then a couple of hours to cook and prep everything for the week on Sunday.  There are some things that I wait to prep, but the majority of my food is prepped for the week on Sunday afternoon.  I would be cooking Sunday dinner anyway so I just add the food for the week to the list and knock it all out at once.

I am also saving quite a bit of money because I am not eating out or ordering out.  Many people think that buying the healthy food is more expensive.  While it is more expensive in the grocery store, the over all amount I am spending is quite a bit less so far than what I am used to spending.  I mean, think about the math.  $10/day for lunch (give or take) adds up to $50/week.  Making it at home and bringing it in costs me about $5/day or less depending on the specific food I am eating that day.  That is a huge savings over the course of a month, or even the course of a year!

Day 1

Hey everyone!

So I just want to say that I probably won’t update this everyday, but I plan to update it at least once a week.

Now, today was day 1 of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge.  I have to say that I feel pretty good.  Today went so much easier than I had anticipated.  The 24DC makes it extremely easy to follow.  I did prep my food last night in order to be ready for the week though.

I’ve found over the years that food prepping is vital to the success of any meal plan.  When you don’t prep your food ahead of time you can often find yourself straying from the meal plan out of shear hunger.  I know I did this many times before, which is why I am such a big advocate of meal planning.

I will say that the one thing I had a difficult time with this evening was not having my glass of wine.  Part of the 24DC is the cleanse phase and during that time period you aren’t supposed to have a whole list of things.  Three of those I consume on a regular basis.  Those are coffee, alcohol, and red meat.  I know, sounds like it is a terrible system, but aside the alcohol out of habit I didn’t have any issues.

The caffeine you would normally intake is supplemented by their product called Spark.  This is a non-carbonated energy drink that not only has caffeine, but it has a bunch of vitamins and minerals in it as well.  I ended up taking two doses of Spark today.  They say that as you detox you will need less and less caffeine.  I can believe that to be true because I remember a while back when I tried not drinking caffeine.  It took about a week of being grumpy, tired, and having headaches before my body finally adapted.  I actually woke up easier without drinking it.  I know, why did I start drinking it again then?  I honestly have no idea.  Taste?

I was also able to get a lot accomplished today.  Not only did I make a bunch of calls for work and get new clients on board, but I had time to take my car and finally go get the window tinting put on.  I have been wanting to do this for a long time, but never made the time.  My car is always so hot when I get it after the sun has been beating down.  So, now it is on and not only does it look good but this afternoon my interior was cooler!  Everyone should look in to getting this done on their vehicle.

Ok, time for bed and then it is back at it tomorrow.  Tomorrow is a another day on the cleanse phase.  Food is prepped and ready to grab and go.  Attitude is good.  Let’s do this!

So this is going to be a blog about my journey through AdvoCare.  I am starting off by doing my first 24 Day Challenge.  You know, gotta test the waters first.  I have tried some samples of their products before and loved them.  This is why I decided to do the 24DC.  You know, plus I want to lose weight…haha!

I want everyone to know that the 24DC is not just a weight loss system.  Yes, most people use it for that, but that is not the only thing you can use it for.  The 24DC is simply a system designed to jump start your life in to becoming more healthy.  For most that means losing weight.  However, for some that means GAINING weight!

The 24DC starts off with a cleanse system.  This is the first 10 days of the system.  You then progress in to the Max Phase which is the final 14 days of the system.

Each phase includes different supplements and everything is separated into easy to use bags.  This way you can just grab and go.

There is also a meal plan that goes with the 24DC.  As with the supplements, the meal plan is broken down by phase.  The kit comes with a nice booklet so you can track each and every day.
